I loved the headphones that conducted through the wearer's body. But, I thought they were probably the most frivolous of the technologies seen. Who would prefer body-conducted signal when a standard wireless signal works better and clearer. Not to mention the fact that you would not need to have the device in your hand. Regardless of all that, I thought it was the coolest in a 'hey thats awesome, but i'd never use it' kinda way.

Yes! You went to the mini theme park on the roof! Tokyo Tower had a lot of hidden surprises (mostly just the one: the theme-park) which made it all the more exciting. The sheer immensity of Tokyo as seen from the top of the tower was breath-taking. I will remember it for the rest of... the month? Good thing you've got a bunch of pictures up, right?

Loved the deer and their sheer indifference towards the constant trickle of tourists. Did not love having to stop every ten feet for a group shot :P. I do know that in retrospect it will be nice to have all those shots on that island, because it really was beautiful.
The hundreds of stairs really made me work for that awesome view up at the top. It was worth every step.

I am really glad that we visited this museum on our trip. Even though, as you say, it was a downer, I think it is important for everyone (especially Americans) to see what kind of effects this kind of warfare actually had.
Some of the exhibits did not seem real because they were so grim.
On a lighter note, it was a beautiful building with an awesome fountain and park in front of it that really gave off the feel of 'peace.'

Hey Billiam,

Well, I said I would catch up to your blog and I finally did...

First off, a good review :) I actually played Me and the Key a few weeks ago... I've been on Kongregate for AGES (I have 6314 points and am level 32... AKA I have very little life). It is a fantastic site I have to say...

Another little addition to what makes Kongregate good is that since so many games and developers are on there, it inspires collaboration... There have been countless times where I've commented on a game only to get a response from the creator with help, info, etc. It really helps makes the games better...

On the subject of cost analysis, that's completely true. While I love having my console games and all, really, a good balance of internet games are key to my gaming life... Some games, like Me and the Key or another Kongregate game Use Boxmen, are quick fun games to play when you need a little time killer. Other games like Epic War (1,2 or 3), Gemcraft or Sonny are all games that take weeks to finish properly, although with the limitations on some things in flash, most of these games get repetitive.

I too wish I could have had more time in Asakusa, it had so much to offer. All I remember was seeing a plastic baby in a huge plastic bag, a group of men carrying some strange box on their shoulders, some very very tall German fellows who made Jason look teeny, and not buying some souvenirs that I definitely should have.

That museum at Hiroshima was really powerful and not to mention detailed. I'm sure that you would get a better detailed description of what went down that day. All they told you in school was that the A-bomb was dropped and it ended the war. It didn't tell you all of the gruesome details about what happened to the people that were affected by it.

I still need to buy me one of those giant wooden spoons. I also liked how we all sort of just watched that deer eat that map. I think if anyone really wanted to we could have stopped it but we just let it continue munching away. I think the best part of that island was climbing up that side of the hill with all of the shrines on it. That was really a lot of fun.

That day really took a lot out of us, and I don't know what could have give us energy other then letting the day go by and reflecting over what we saw. On my later travels I got to see Okinawa's Peace Museum and that really affected me too. It was so sad learning about that Island's past and the fate of so many of its people. But I think what affected me the most was the kindness I was given at both of those places.

Aww come on, you know you would love getting smells in your email. I would have all sorts of special emails for you too. I think when it comes to docomo everything has already been said but the tea ceremony was just fantastic to me for some reason. This was like the one time where I let my American culture really kick in and it was maybe the most unappropriated time. I don't know how I didn't burst out laughing when it came to playing with the play-dogh dessert and hearing the helicopter pilots talking over our walkie talkies.
